Rom Walks

ROM Walks are usually held twice a year with guides from either the ROM or other organizations who conduct the walks. The cost of a walk is $10.00. Contact Jackie Lawrence at 416-414-2710 for information, once walks resume.

Our walks take place twice a year (spring and fall). Initially the walks (approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours) were guided by ROM Volunteers.  Additionally, we have used local community guides.  Our walks have taken us to a variety of neighborhoods, cemeteries, ravines, indoor walks such as PATH, and historic places.  Our walks usually end with lunch at a local restaurant.

Benefits of belonging to ROM Walks

The benefit of participating in ROM walks is that it allows members to socialize and share in conversation while enjoying walking and learning about our city, The walks are very educational. You can explore, with a guide, diverse aspects of Toronto’s vibrant neighbourhoods including history, architecture, arts of all varieties, education and more.

The walks also provide some exercise, and this helps improve your health.

Upcoming Meetings

No ROM Walks are planned until they are offered again by the ROM or other organizations, and it is safe to meet again in large groups. The cost of a walk is $10.00.

Our Members

Attending a ROM walk is open to everyone in the Probus. Some popular ROM walks have exceeded 20 members and have required 2 or more guides. Members sign up for the walks at the Event Table at our monthly Probus Meetings. Contact Jackie Lawrence at 416-414-2710 for more information, once walks resume.
