Linda Hasler and David Snow have decided to step away from their co-chair positions with the Probus Investment Club, effective immediately. While it may sound like a sudden and surprising announcement, the truth is that this has been in the works for some time, in the sense that they have been discussing how they could continue to do what is required to ensure that the monthly meetings provide the information and enjoyment that Investment Club members have come to expect.
Of course, their decision also reflects their need to ensure that the amount of time spent on the club is compatible with demands from life outside Probus. By stepping away from these roles, they realized that this could lead to either other members taking over, or termination of the club for the time being.
If someone steps forward, David and Linda will be glad to assist with the transition. If the club is terminated, perhaps at some point, some other Probus members will respond to an expressed interest and start a new investment club.
David and Linda will miss the monthly meetings, socializing over coffee and cookies, as well as our wonderful discussions about current events, the economy, world politics and the effects of all these upon our investments, both personal and virtual. Although they were sad to end their terms as co-chairs, they are happy to invite members to a final wrap up party on November 8th.
David and Linda feel that it has been an honour and a pleasure to meet with the members of the Investment Club for the past ten years or so.
