January 12, 2021
At our January 2021 meeting we continued our discussions on the future of the United States, the economy, and the resulting changes we will all experience as a result of Covid-19. We had several presenters this month which resulted in our purchasing gold and silver stocks in view of possible currency negativity. Our other reviews resulted in increasing our holdings in BCE and Shaw Communications and holding our present position in NFI (to be reviewed periodically).
Next month we will review and decide if we want to increase our holding in tech stocks and review several of our other present holdings.

The Investment Club met again via Zoom on February 9th to discuss investing in troubling times. We had a very interesting discussion on sustainable companies and directed our attention to the Corporate Knights list of Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations. To our surprise, 13 Canadian corporations were on the list. We will definitely consider sustainability in our future purchases.
We reviewed Algonquin Power (hold and possibility of increasing our position), ARKK (buy), Enbridge (hold), and Inter Pipelines (sell). Our discussions next month will include reviewing our utility holdings and our cash position
