Through the Grape Vine #4

The wine tasting club continues to meet on the first Thursday of the month to enjoy our companionship and share our wine findings. We have found since we are not all sampling the same wines together as we would if we physically met, we are now sampling each other’s recommendations. Somehow it works and we are enjoying a more varied choice of wines while discovering new favourites.

These are a couple of recommendations we have uncovered over the past few months.

ROBERT MONDAVI Chardonnay – Ruth Warren

The wine I was tasting yesterday was from the Napa Valley in California. It was a Robert Mondavi Chardonnay. It is full bodied with a fruity aroma. The alcohol content is 13.5%. I bought it on sale at $14.45, but it is regularly $17.45.

WHITE CLIFF Sauvignon Blank 2019 – Linda Hasler

This is a reasonably priced Marlborough New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It is very tasty with a light fruity flavour. White Cliff offers fruit driven, full flavoured easy drinking wines. This wine reveals lively tropical fruit flavours of guava and passion fruit, the perfect accompaniment to shellfish, seafood and other white meats. I enjoy it with various cheeses since it is refreshing and an easy sipping wine to be enjoyed with friends. It has 12.5% alcohol content and is priced at $14.95. It regularly goes on sale at the LCBO for several dollars less.
